Smartest question ever

After a lecture on globalization students of our school had to write an essay on this topic. In one of the essays I came across this question which I find very intriguing and which I myself couldn't have figured out, I also don't know the answer yet:

How come we are able to transport every product and all bits of information around the world and yet we are unable to transport incomes and knowledge equally over the world?

Hallow Erik, I am sorry not to have visited you recently, I have been distracted and my family only allow me a minuet or two for blogging!

I do not understand this question though.

"Hello" is the word intended, spell checkers can make some interesting mistakes!

That is a great question!!! If you don't mind, I would like to pose this question to my congregation. I send out a weekly e-mail letter to my congregation and we use it as a means to communicate what is going on in the life of the church. I also use it as the means to plant an idea or a thought for contemplation. This is a great question - and a great discussion starter.

perhaps it is not so much a case of "can't" as "won't"!

The bugaboo is the word "equally." I don't think income or knowledge is evenly distributed anywhere, even within my own household.

I don't believe it will ever be possible to distribute either knowledge or wealth exactly equally all over the world. I believe, however, that we could do a much better job of distributing them more equitably. As hyde dp noted, the issue is really a matter of will rather than capability.

I agree with evie, the fact that everyone is not born equally (some have more IQ than other, or with better eyesight, or can run faster, etc.), the fact that the world has only a finite amount of resources to distribute, greed, and among a million other reasons, makes giving complete equal share impossible. Although the goal is impossible, the fight has to go on for more equality.

Dear all,
Thank you for your advices and I tend to agree with Evie and Campli, but the "will" question isn't enough, it's also "can". I for myself don't feel able to do something about it, except voting, praying and donating. I feel powerless in doing the things I will describe in my next posting which I'm going to write after this, done by people I highly admire. I also, at the same time, don't want to feel guilty about this powerlessness or, if you want, lack of decisiveness, although one should feel accroding to "moral logics" if this exists.

I'm a great believer in equal opportunity. People that seek knowledge or wealth should have the opportunity to obtain that. Without opportunity, there is no hope and human spirit becomes barren.

Well products are made for the public and we have vehicles to transport them, information can go throughout the world cuz of the web, but these things are ment for the public. on the other hand, transporting income i dont really have an answer to that and knowledge is different for every single person everyones brains perform at different levels so to have equal knowledge you need an equal brain which no one in the whole universe has ever had. (come on guys im only 14)

well, time is money and knowledge is power so according to my theory we are not able to transport incomes because we simply choose not to. - MrDrProfessor.Jaisil
